Plating Capability

Zn-Ni Rack Plating

Rack plating for complex automotive assemblies — 4000L bath capacity

Rack (VAT) plating suspends individual components on conductive frames, allowing precise control of current distribution across the part surface. At Technocrats India, our Zn-Ni rack plating line operates a 4000-litre plating bath in a 5′ × 5′ × 10′ tank — engineered for complex automotive brackets, fabricated steel assemblies, and components with tight dimensional tolerances where uniform alloy deposition is critical.

Rack plating is the preferred method for parts where coating uniformity on all surfaces must be controlled individually — stampings with recesses, weld assemblies, and structural brackets that cannot be tumbled. The zinc-nickel alloy (12–15% Ni) delivers high corrosion resistance, confirmed at NSST 1010+ hours red rust resistance, meeting Tier-2 OEM specifications for the European and US automotive supply chain.

Key benefits

Complex geometry coverage

Individual racking isolates each part, ensuring uniform current distribution across deep recesses, welds, and fabricated profiles.

1010+ hrs NSST

Zn-Ni alloy coating delivers red rust resistance exceeding 1010 hours in Neutral Salt Spray Testing — consistently meeting OEM requirements.

Large bath capacity

4000-litre bath accommodates large assemblies and high rack loads, supporting OEM production volumes without bottlenecks.

Dimensional control

XRF coating thickness measurement on every batch confirms alloy deposit is within specification — critical for close-tolerance assemblies.

Common questions

Rack plating is used for larger, heavier, or geometrically complex parts that cannot be tumbled — fabricated brackets, stamped assemblies, and precision components with tight tolerances. Barrel plating is used for high volumes of smaller parts such as fasteners and clips.

Our 5′ × 5′ × 10′ tank accommodates large automotive assemblies and structural brackets. Contact us with your component dimensions and we will confirm feasibility and racking configuration.

We meet Tier-2 OEM specifications for Zn-Ni alloy content (12–15% Ni), NSST red rust resistance, and post-heat-ageing performance. Full batch traceability and test records are available for supply chain documentation. Contact us with your specific OEM spec for confirmation.
