High-volume Zn-Ni barrel plating for fasteners, clips, and precision components
Barrel plating processes high volumes of small-to-medium components by tumbling them in a rotating perforated barrel submerged in the plating bath. At Technocrats India, our Zn-Ni barrel plating line is fully automated with PLC-controlled bath chemistry, delivering consistent zinc-nickel alloy deposition across every part in every run — from automotive fasteners and retaining clips to precision pins and stampings.
The barrel process is optimised for throughput without compromising alloy quality. Bath chemistry is monitored continuously and adjusted automatically, eliminating manual variability. Every batch is verified by XRF coating thickness measurement and NSST salt spray testing before release — the same quality assurance standard applied to our rack line.
Key benefitsHigh throughput
Barrel processing handles large quantities of small components simultaneously — ideal for fasteners, clips, pins, and stampings at automotive production volumes.
Consistent coating
Tumbling action distributes parts evenly through the bath, producing uniform Zn-Ni alloy thickness across complex small geometries.
PLC bath control
Automated process control maintains bath chemistry within specification throughout the run, eliminating operator variability and ensuring batch-to-batch consistency.
Scalable capacity
Barrel line capacity scales to support OEM supply chain volumes. Contact us to discuss production scheduling and lead times for your programme.
Small-to-medium components that can withstand tumbling without damage — fasteners (bolts, nuts, studs), retaining clips, pins, small stampings, and similar parts. Components that are fragile, have tight tolerances, or require individual handling are better suited to rack plating.
PLC-controlled bath management continuously monitors and adjusts chemical parameters — nickel and zinc ion concentrations, pH, temperature, and current density — to maintain alloy composition (12–15% Ni) throughout the run. XRF measurement on every batch confirms conformance.
Yes. Our Zn-Ni barrel-plated components are tested post-crimping to verify coating integrity is maintained under mechanical stress — a standard requirement for automotive fastener supply chains. Batch test records are available for OEM audit.
